The process is done through a third-party site:  <a href=\"http:\/\/en.gravatar.com\/\">http:\/\/en.gravatar.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gravatar = globally recognized avatar.  This means that if you ever post on other blogs, the same avatar will follow you across the web (so be careful when choosing your icon).<\/p>\n<p>If this whole thing scares you, you can keep the default avatars that come with your posts.  These are mathematically generated avatars that are distinct for every user (and no I cannot control the look of your generated avatar, it is randomly generated).\u00a0 I can however, change the type of random generation.\u00a0 Right now we have those little shape-faces, but I can change them to monster faces, or random patterns that kind of look like wallpaper patterns in miniature.\u00a0\u00a0 Which would you prefer?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you like my little panda on the comments, you can have your own avatar.
