{"id":29,"date":"2009-11-21T09:31:51","date_gmt":"2009-11-21T15:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/facultycorner.com\/main\/?p=29"},"modified":"2009-11-21T09:59:42","modified_gmt":"2009-11-21T15:59:42","slug":"what-is-this-blog-about","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/facultycorner.com\/main\/2009\/11\/21\/what-is-this-blog-about\/","title":{"rendered":"What is this blog about?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-37\" title=\"edd_aug\" src=\"http:\/\/facultycorner.com\/main\/wp-content\/images\/edd_aug.jpg\" alt=\"edd_aug\" width=\"300\" height=\"137\" \/>Facultycorner.com was created as a way for staff at Granite City High School to share ideas.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve spent many educational development days discussing how we can create a school environment where teachers collaborate, share ideas, and have some say in the direction of the school.<\/p>\n<p>C Hutchings asked me originally if we could set up a forum.\u00a0 I thought about that, but based on my experience in the past, teachers found forums to be a little difficult to manage.\u00a0 I decided to go with a blog system because people (whether they realize it or not) are familiar with the blog design.\u00a0\u00a0 Most news sites use this type of system, where an article is posted and readers can make comments and discuss the article underneath it.<\/p>\n<p>Facultycorner.com is going to look the same way.\u00a0\u00a0 Invited staff will have &#8220;authoring&#8221; privileges to create articles and\u00a0 make comments.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Of course, anyone can read these articles and comments.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to be able to post and comment on blogs, you will need a registration name and code from S. Muskopf.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All users have access to read the blogs, so be aware of that when you post.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What I mean by &#8220;all users&#8221; is anyone with an internet connection can access these pages.\u00a0 The only thing I am limiting is who can make comments and who can post articles.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this site is to share ideas and information, it is in no way intended to be a complaint board.\u00a0\u00a0 Articles might be about good teaching ideas, lesson plans, school events, clubs, sports, or even funny classroom stories.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, those of you who know me, know that I&#8217;m more of a science geek and technophile than a writer, I apologize for any grammar errors in advance.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m hoping that some of our English teachers will want to get involved or at the very least they can make comments (in red) to correct my mangled sentence structures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Facultycorner.com was created as a way for staff at Granite City High School to share ideas.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve spent many educational development days discussing how we can create a school environment where teachers collaborate, share ideas, and have some say in the direction of the school.
